Stuart Marine Corp. (SMC) Terms for Boat Brokerage and Sale
When a Boat is Sold from the SMC Yard:
SMC will earn a 20% sales commission based on the selling price of the boat.
The commission is paid from funds collected from the sale.
The commission is earned upon the satisfactory completion of the sale.
SMC will contact and work directly with prospective buyers.
Upon receipt of an offer from a prospective buyer, SMC will ask the seller to accept, reject or counter the offer. The seller will determine the selling price of the boat.
Boat Listing with SMC is non-exclusive, and may be cancelled at anytime.
The seller’s boat must be in good sailing condition.
SMC built boats may be re-warranted for one year when sold from the SMC yard for their original selling price.
When a boat is sold from the SMC yard, no charge services will include:
factory survey
wash, wax, polish & oil
storage, covering and display
sales documentation
Charged services are due at the time of sale, and may include:
boat – pick up & transport
equipment – replacement
hull, deck or interior – reconditioning
sails motor & trailer - repairs
When a boat is to be removed from the SMC yard prior to sale by SMC, all yard bills are due and payable immediately.
When a Boat is Sold from the Owner’s Yard:
SMC will earn a 10% sales commission based on the listing price of the boat or $500; the maximum of either.
The commission is pre-qualified at the time of listing with a MC/Visa number & expiration date.
The commission is earned upon the satisfactory completion of the sale.

SMC will send prospect buyers’ information to the seller, and the seller will contact and work directly with prospective buyers.
